Damn, from an English speaking point of view that is poor grammar, it should read, the GOP could not care less about what happens to the American people as a result.
What the heck is American exceptionalism? We haven't been exceptional for decades in any area that matters. Sure, we're exceptional at having lots and lots of fat, uneducated people, the highest crime rates in the world, one of the worst healthcare systems in the western world, and a defense budget that rivals almost all other countries on the planet combined.
If that's American exceptionalism, you can have it.
Evidently, you haven't taken an American sociology course. I would suggest you read some of the writings of de Tocqueville, Wood, Lipset, and Paine.
Isn't that the equivalent, of an Obama poll on FOX News?
Not really. I find CNN relatively middle of the road compared to Fox and MSNBC when it comes to reporting. They may have a slight bias, but I doubt you're going to find anything less biased from a popular media source.
Well, the only surplus we've had in the past 30 years was under a Democrat.
Read up on the Republican Revolution of 94'. Do you recall when Clinton said that the "era of big government is over"? Do you also remember that welfare reform occurred under his administration?

A lot of that anger seems directed toward the GOP. According to the survey, favorable views of the Republican party dropped eight points over the past month, to 33 percent. Fifty-nine percent say they have an unfavorable view of the Republican party, an all-time high dating back to 1992 when the question was first asked.
The poll indicates that views of the Democratic party, by contrast, have remained fairly steady, with 47 percent saying they have a favorable view of the Democrats and an equal amount saying they hold an unfavorable view.
"The Democratic party, which had a favorable rating just a couple of points higher than the GOP in July, now has a 14-point advantage over the Republican party," adds Holland.
They've done nothing but overreach since 2010. Why can't they figure out that America doesn't like this? Tea brained dolts I guess.
The Dems were in power 2009 and 2010. How did we get to this point when they could have fixed it ?
They spent 2 years passing spending bills. Where were the cuts ?
You can't blame where we are today on 7 months of Repubs in the House.
The Republicans reveal themselves during the debt ceiling negotiations as being perfectly willing to jeopardize the United States of America economically in order to take down President Obama.
Remember things were said like:
Quote:
"We're going to hurt some people"
Mtich McConnell
“I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting,” he said. “Most of us didn’t think that. What we did learn is this — it’s a hostage that’s worth ransoming. And it focuses the Congress on something that must be done."
That apparently didn't sit too well with the American people. Also most polling indicated that the American people WANTED A COMPROMISE that included spending cuts and tax revenue increases. The Republican stance against not raising revenue actually worked against them in terms of public opinion.

Who are you quoting? If you are going to support your argument with quotes, at least site who said them.
Yes, I think GOP went too far with that stunt, and people see right through it.
Yeah, the GOP got $90B in cuts out of a $1.5T deficit, while the S&P insisted on $4T in cuts.. And you think they went too far..
Tell me Finn, what wouldnt have been too far because if you think $90B was over the top.. And then furthermore, since they ONLY got $90B, and by your own admission this is too much, tell me why you think the GOP is to blame for the downgrade when by your own admission they got more than they should have..
Sounds to me like you want america to collapse on its own debt and anyone who stops it is too blame.

The GOP didnt oppose revenue increases, they opposed tax increases. If you dont comprehend its not the same, thats your problem.

The letters to the editor in the Dallas Morning News, which by the way leans right more than left, are nearly ALL writers very unhappy with both the GOP and the Teabagers in particular. People are already sick of their tactics and they are about to find out that the American voter is not tolerant of radicals.
