The GOP is pathetic in regards to its record with black and latino youth. An atrocious ideology that assumes that these young people are inherently inferior and undesirable. Rather than focusing on eliminating the CAUSES of the factors that contribute to a harder road for this segment, Conservatives would rather practice discrimination and cry about taxes. Pretty pathetic bunch. Bloomberg has done more to help this segment than Conservatives have in over 100 years.

^You do understand the difference between NY state and NYC, right?

Bloomberg has had his gaffs, like hiring a friend with no background in education to become the superintendent for NYC's public schools; but overall, he's done a descent job.

No, I mean intentional broad-sided slander.

Bloomberg became a Republican to become mayor. It was easier to defeat Badillo, a career second stringer than to enter the Democratic party in the 2001 elections. Purely political reason to change parties.

But is good to see some progressives (Soros was mentioned in the article) put their money where their mouth is and give towards a cause instead of demanding the govt take care of it all.

So what will the money do about all those baby daddies who don't take care of their children leading these kids to a life of poverty? How will money from some rich white guys change a harmful aspect of today's black culture?
