There's a cost to that. At first it increases arithmetically, the geometrically and now it's increasing exponentially.

You can no longer afford the costs.

The beauty of economics is that it is like science: self-correcting. You can't violate the laws of economics or even bend the laws, because they eventually self-correct.

That's what's happening now, and even worse is that BRIC is undoing all the damage caused by the US, by leveling the playing field. Once the playing field has been leveled, the US no longer has an advantage.

This will be very traumatic for many Americans. They will be forced to radically adjust their life-style and standard of living.

When all is said and done here over the next decade, if 13% of households have two wage-earners, then consider that a gift and blessing bestowed upon Americans by God Himself, because things will be really good if you can maintain that.

This post is spot on, especially about WWII. People don't realize that America came ahead during the post-war boom because the majority of the industrialized world was heavily damaged and became our debtors.

With technology and the internet-age, the field will only get leveled more and more with increased global competition.
