By all means, make your case.
Monitoring reef sea surface temperature

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) monitors for bleaching "hot spots", areas where sea surface temperature rises 1 °C (34 °F) or more above the long-term monthly average. This system detected the worldwide 1998 bleaching event,[14][15] that corresponded to an El Niño. NOAA also uses a satellite with 50k resolution at night, which covers a large area and does not detect the maximum sea surface temperatures occurring usually around noon.[citation needed]

I just brought it up from a credibility standpoint. If this company pushed Phillip Morris's agenda before, morals be damned; I'm not sure I'd trust too much research they do on climate change, given their past ability to overlook facts to push their paid agenda forward. Do you happen to know if it's the same research firm?

MANY scientific articles have very poor statistical evaluations. This is particulary true in medical research. That is why ANYONE who publishes in the literature should have taken at least one graduate level statistics class and submit thier date for a statistical consult and evaluation both BEFORE and AFTER the collection of data.

Garbage in- Garbage out. That is what global warming is all about to the inane who have no knowledge of science or statistics. That being said, regardless of the facts and actual science, they JUST KNOW it to be true, regardless of the facts. This is why this is a cult, and not a real scientific theory.

Let me illustrate this for you in another way. Back in the middle ages, probably 95% of people would have polled that the Earth is flat. Guess what: that didn't mean they were right.
.

As I recall reading about it, ALL of the smartest scientists in the world told the other people that the world was flat.

Guess what: That didn't mean they were right.

Is this the way scientific decisions are made? By a Rasmussen poll of people who don't understand the laws of gravity?

How did you know they only polled people who don't understand the laws of gravity?

Maybe they polled all those scientists who told us the world was flat.... for centuries.

I was being a bit sarcastic. Most people don't understand science and the scientific method.

Those scientists you refer to are dead. It may come as some surprise to you, but the idea that the world is flat has been disproven. Though if the debate were happening today, the RWs on CD would argue that it's flat.
