I don't think it will be that bad. And in any case, many people planned ahead and will be putting money back in when they see the position they feel comfortable with in the coming days.

Are you people excited and hoping for bad things to happen? The stock market isn't going to crash 80%.

New Hampshire ... Gone Republican in a avalanche!

Boxer will lose, but barely.

Indiana isn't even close.

North Dakota is going Republican

Washington... once again, the independent vote will put Rossi on top.

Wisconsin ... once again, the independent vote will put Johnson on top

80%? I doubt it. I am sure that there will be a little haircut tody. No one can really tell where the markets will be in a few months or a few years. I am just glad that I am not in the stock market and am essentially 100% in hard assets.

Whatever you do folks, do not set stop loss orders. The market makers will see everything and will intentionally bring it down to what they call "shaking out weak hands".

I wish I were more savvy and knew how to do that. I re-sectored but that was only w/ a few mutual funds that I have some control over. Wish I knew how to actually be a trader so I could defensively control my financial destiny better.

Good for you - and I am sure you will come out of this intact.

And it may not be that bad. DOW futures tended towards -300 last night and it's pulling up to -200.

You will not have a big drop in one day possibly, the drop can go under 10K but it will be spread out over weeks.

You will have a tough time identifying the bottom. My best form of advice to people - don't invest this week. We will also see a little rally, but it will only be a rebound. Longterm outlook is that this is a clearcut bears downtrend.
