1. History shows that the author was totally wrong in his analysis and prediction about the campaign and election; and
2. He was supporting Clinton at the height of the primary dispute between Obama and Hillary.
Neither of these things, especially the second, contradict anything that I'm saying with regard to leftist stances towards Obama.
And of course, he was not totally wrong:
Quote:
1) Obama’s empty claims to being a candidate of progressive change and to embodying a “movement” that exists only as a brand will dissolve into disillusionment in either a failed campaign against McCain or an Obama Presidency that continues the politics he’s practiced his entire career

I don't disagree with your statements about leftist stances, but the source you cite discloses nothing. It's no secret that there was plenty of Obama distrust that, as we know, the Clintons pretty well exploited (not unfairly). His declaration that Obama couldn't beat McCain was obviously wrong. Of course, that was before McCain made his horrific/comical VP choice.
I guess you don't even look at polls from Rasmussen, do you?
No I do not, ALL polls are BS IMHO, if you knew anything about polling you would know that, but instead you see one you like and say look look her folks this says what I want to hear. There is only ONE poll that matters and that one is next year.

The Left won't abandon Obama. They're too scared of being called "racists". Its the ultimate sin.
I voted for an old white guy, Mike Gravel, rather than Obama in the primary in 2008. I'm not afraid in the least of being called a racist. I think you ought to meet a few actual people on the left and leave the caricatures at the door.
