Exactly, who cares. Apparently, a lot of people have funky notions about what they eat. I can't stand people who make so much fuss about the organic/omega three/msg hoopla. Just shut up and eat, and do some exercise for Christ's sake.

I assumed you were well versed in what GMO foods actually are. Guess I was wrong . I suggest you do some reading on the subject on hysteria-free sites, and then make an educated decision. The issue of GMO's is complex, and the primary purpose is to address global food shortage. Sorry that you think it's all about you, but guess what, it isn't.
Currently GMO's are being developed to address:
- pest resistance
- herbicide tolerance (prevent weeds strangling crops)
- disease resistance (viruses, fungi, and bacteria that destroy crops)
- cold tolerant crops
- drought resistant crops
- saline resistant crops
- enhanced nutritional value
- phytoremediation (reduce toxins in soil, and obviously these are not edible plants)
A good place to start would be go to cnn.com, and watch Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta's coverage of Somalia, then get back to us about how GMO's offend your sensibilities.

I'd also add that I am personally diametrically opposed to Monsanto's business practices, but their research is invaluable unless we are okay with global starvation.

I disagree. What nutrients do you get from GMO's???. You'll end up starving if you eat GMO food almost as if you ate nothing at all because your body won't obtain any natural life force or nutrition. T
The genetic engineering and the stupid food distribution system is what is causing the starving. If you let farming go back to old fashioned organic farming, there'd be no starvation and we'd all be a LOT HEALTHIER too.
Look at this with includes research dating back to the 1700's long before Monsanto was around.

One of many proposed modifications is enhanced nutritional value. As I previously stated....

You are more than likely correct. Their research may benefit billions of people though. As I said previously I am not a big fan of their business practices.

"Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families' is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish."
'FDA's brief goes on to state that "even if such a right did exist, it would not render FDA's regulations unconstitutional because prohibiting the interstate sale and distribution of unpasteurized milk promotes bodily and physical health."
"There is no fundamental right to freedom of contract."

And you obviously didn't care to look at any of my sources or even use your own common sense and THINK about it for Pete's Sake!
Did it ever occur to you that the "demand" for GMOs might be due to bad legislation designed to force farmers and consumers into buying GMOs and not free choice??Remember when dairy farmers were forced into giving their cows rGBH when that came out to make Monsanto profits.? They also insisted that dairy farmers that weren't going to cowtow to Monsanto couldn't suggest in their labeling that rBGH FREE milk was safer than all the rest of the milk from rBGH treated cows.
If that isn't Fascist/Corporatist control over our food supply in action I don't know what is. On a global level you have CODEX Alimentarius whose standards designed to exponentially increase the use of chmicals and poisons in food across the world and the "Food Safety Modernization Act" references these guidelines will be used here in our country. The new food czar is none other than Obama appointed Monsanto ex CEO Michael Taylor .
To prove that Monsanto has no intention of doing any good in this world. You might want to look at this. http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com/201...eat-and-dairy/
