I started out as a 'righty' although after King Bush II and with no other option in 2008 other than McCain/Palin did not vote and did hope Obama would bring change.
Initial dissapointments for me was Obama not bringing our troops home, the initial fiasco with his Czars who really were pretty much socialists and the Obamacare fiasco.
The final straw was when Obama/Reid pushed for and extended the Patriot Act. I look at the Obama administration and think he pushed for social programs that are not financially feasible but other than that how is he different than GWB?
I think our Government is owned by International Finance and Big Oil and the president is pretty much owned by them. To be fair, I believe Obama really did intend to change things but after being elected got his instructions from those in power.
I fear that the more powers we give the President who is a puppet of international finance and big oil are really only powers we give international finance and big oil. Both Bush and Obama have expanded the powers of the presidency and the powers of law enforcement at the Federal and State levels.
We have been sold by our own government.
We need to elect someone who will bring us back to a nation of laws where politicians are accountable to the people and the constitution.
We need to limit the power of the Executive Branch of government and demand congress take up their responsibilities again, then elect representatives who will respect 'We the People' and the Constitution.

If you could afford to pay for a political campaign, you could put a politician in your pocket too. And, it's been going on for more than 30 years.
Look at the companies that got BAILOUT MONEY. Then, look at the biggest contributors to the campaign. Only the dates have changed. They'll scratch your back if you scratch theirs. And, if they're not sure they can put you in their pocket, you're not going to win.
So, we've all been "played" like a violin for the last 30 years or more.
... and since you nor I can do anything about it, we both are being played.
Look how we are being played against each other, right here. While the Political Machine, is business as usual.
Divide and Conquer. That is how they do it. Democrats against Republicans when it should be Americans against the Globalists.
They get Democrats and Republcians busy wasting time bickering at each other and meanwhile quietly get the Federal Reserve extracting our wealth by printing money and handing it over to the elites. They start wars in other countries AND GIVE THE ENEMIES money to fund their retaliation against us. It is an OUTRAGE! Meanwhile more than half Americans are oblivious to the fact that it is even going on. We pay for defense, with no money to do so, of 130 countries and the more they do this the weaker our military becomes in being able to protect our own country right here!
How about we elect this guy. He seems to have his head screwed on straight.
The same reason why we only have two dominate parties, they want total control with no options.
Our political system has been severely compromised, we are now forced to vote on who would do the least amount of damage instead of who would help this country. The last election was proof of that.
Think about this: Of all of the intelligent republicans, why would they dig up Sarah Palin as a VP choice? The poweres to-be knew that she was a crackpot from the begining and in addition you have to take into account Mccain's age. Bush and Cheney screwed up so badly among the average American people a republican would not have gotten elected even if they ran against Marvin the Martian! So what the democrats did was find a relatively unknown person of color to run, full well knowing that this country still has racial problems. Knowing this he continued the same BS that Bush did but dared the republicans to go agianst them directly, so they (republicans) created the Teabaggers (note: not the teaparty) to do their "dirty work" by attack Obama every which way that they can. Whenever they go too far the republicans distance themeselves from them (i.e Debt crisis).
When Obama and Pelosi did not pursue the treason charges on bush and cheney for war crimes stemming from profittering from war to torture, it caught my attention. When the president was pushed for reform of the finanicial market he passed the Frank-Dobbs law, which was turned into law without being completed or enforced, I knew something was up. Now after this Super Pac crap and the President serving on the UN security council as president I knew we were in trouble.

Slowly.... Very slowly, even the farthest left, are finally coming around to realize, they too have been played. They are seeing what Progressive really is.

You underestimate the power of the veto pen when used to uphold the Constitution. It is an understandable error as we've not seen a POTUS use the pen for that putpose in my lifetime. That maybe true but you underestimate the power of the wickness in the political relm. In order for him to veto anything he has to get in the WH first. With all of the bickering between the two parties and the hijacking of the Teaparty by the Teabaggers (most people can't tell the difference) he has an uphill battle
