I doubt that many posters on this board are here to analyze and critically reassess their positions.
The evidence points strongly to most posters wanting nothing more than a snarky put-down of someone from "the other side."
But, in my case, I have done a personal 180, politically. I voted GOP since Nixon. But the trumped-up Iraq invasion in 2003 was my wake-up call. I voted Liberterian in 2004 and Democratic in 2008. Seeing how the GOP has morphed into an ugly caricature of what it once was, I'll continue to vote Democratic for some time into the future, just to oppose the looniness that's consuming the GOP.

I believed that there were more self proclaimed "Christians" that had empathy, understanding and mercy. The desire for wealth and power, along with illusions of superiority have usurped honesty, loyalty, and forgiveness.
The outright mean-ness of some has been an eye opener, and i grew up in NY,lol...plus til I moved I never realized the sharp divide in demographics esp re: religion, it is very disheartening that as americans no one tries to make a compromise-

Nope I'm here for entertainment, when I read down the list of threads how could anyone take this stuff seriously, I mostly post on threads where I will get the best bang for my buck I enjoy to reading others opinions and how upset some people get.
The fact that this snarky crap is what's passing for entertainment these days, is half of the problem.
Was it a dramatic change or just a course correction? Was it a minor change or a drastic rethinking of your worldview?
Or, has C-D Politics mainly reinforced your mindset and worldview or caused you to dig in further?

I didn't realize how absolutely nasty and ignorant most political Conservatives are until I came here (I knew religious conservatives were obnoxious prior to this board). It reassured me, that while they have their own problems too, liberals care more about other people, where as Conservatives only care about those that believe exactly like they do.
