Once the mandatory provision is removed it will go forward, like it or not. I said this would happen even before it was passed.

Well, without the mandate, the whole shebang FALLS APART.

This will be a great issue, again as it was in 2010, to bash obama and the dems over the head with.
Glad they caught up with the rest of us on this. We already knew it was unconstitutional.

I don't know that the SC would allow the Mandate to be removed. It is because of the Mandate that Ins Premiums would be held down. Take that away, and there would have to be some other way to keep Ins Prices in check. AKA Public Option. The Ins Industry would never let the SC allow for that, and we all know who 5 of the SC work for.

Hey Progs/Libs, I thought Obama was this magically intelligent Constitutional scholar? How in the world did he pass something unconstitutional then?

All of those mandates require FUNDING to enforce and staff the bureaucracy needed to administer them. The funding will never be approved by the Congress.

2-1 - One of the dem judges voted against obama.

11th Circuit says mandate unconstitutional - Jennifer Haberkorn - POLITICO.com

Quote:
The 2-1 ruling marks the first time a judge appointed by a Democrat has voted to strike down the mandate. Judge Frank Hull, who was nominated by former President Bill Clinton, joined Chief Judge Joel Dubina, who was appointed by George H.W. Bush, to strike down the mandate.
Looks like he put aside his partisanship to do the right thing.

The mandate is the foundation for the law - take that away and you have nothing.

A little early for celebrating, don't you think?

Quote:
The decision contrasts with one by the U.S. Appeals Court for the 6th Circuit, based in Cincinnati, which had upheld the individual mandate as constitutional. That case has already been appealed to the Supreme Court.
Appeals court upholds health-care law's individual mandate - The Washington Post

But then, you folks were cheering that "Obamacare" had been "defeated" back in 2010, when a Virginia court found the mandate unconstitutional.

It's going to take the Supreme Court to decide before you should break out the champagne.

That is not the problem of the SC.

Of course, don't look for insurance companies to lower premiums already raised in anticipation of Obamacare costs.
It won't save anything as I see it since the Dems will just try to raise income taxes to make up for the loss of the mandated money. I know the House will never agree with that but they will have to try to save the most important part of Obama's reign.
