But to be leaving town to spend 10 days luxuriating in an affluent, New England summer town when millions of Americans can’t find work? To fly off to the Vineyard when the public is losing faith in Washington’s ability to fix the nation’s economic problems, and with people anxious about their futures?

Oh, get over the fact that this president---like all presidents before him---takes off for a private vacation when the House and Senate are out of town. (You posted similar tripe over last summer's trip to Martha's Vineyard.) As for him staying at the White House or going to Camp David, that would be like trying to take a vacation at the same place where you work. Why would anyone with a high-stress, high-pressure job do?

the 435 members of congress are on vaction, I mean recess...so what difference does it make? let him head to martha vineyards or wherever he is going for the few days and by time congress returns in early september, hopefully everyone of them will be ready to get down to the peoples business and get this economy back on track

The rich are different than you and I, as a conservative I don't begrudge the wealthy their luxury vacations but since Obama is the leader of the Left I could see how this vacation could pose a problem for him.

Apart from the optics of the family frolicking on the beach and yachting, there is the issue of the exorbitant cost to the taxpayer.
Gosh, I sure do remember the Left gnashing teeth when Bush would go to his ranch.
