The tea party is a blessing for Democrats. They are pushing the presidential nominees so far to the right that they won't be able to shift back to the middle for the general election without looking like they are flip flopping.

It's comments like this that have diminished the left in the eyes of the majority of Americans. When you can't win arguments on their merits, you simply attack and denigrate those with a different view than your own.
