Should that also apply to state and local taxes and property taxes?
we are talking federal right now..
but if you wish to talk state, then you have to look at ALL the states on a broad view..some states dont have income tax (fl, and a few others), some have multiple layers of property tax (NC has a property tax on dogs)
but the TPOIC is federal income tax...please stray on topic
better yet would be a tax on spending..a consumption tax instead of an income tax (since a majority of income is NEVER REPORTED)
One thing I find interesting (although probably nobody else finds it interesting) is that prices vary dramatically for the same thing, depending on where you are, how much money and/or credit you have, and who's selling it to you.
Joe Palooka and Richie Rich do not typically pay the same price for a widget.
I can walk into two stores in the same town and sometimes find a 100 percent different in their prices for the same item. If I buy a widget at Store B, I should pay twice as much tax as if I buy the widget at Store A? What if I can't get to Store A? Tough luck?
Now this does suggest a business opportunity, but I don't think that's the best way to do it.
Nah, he's talking about the 50% of the American people who don't pay taxes.
These people don't pay taxes due to low income and generally live off government assistance but at the same time have the same legal voting rights as the next person. During the 2008 election, these people voted for "Spreading the Wealth." These same people vote to raise taxes but ironically don't pay taxes them selves. They want higher taxes so they can receive more government welfare hand outs...remember the stimilus that sent out free checks? Hard working Americans are getting really sick of welfare recimpiates voting for higher taxes and thus want them to start contributing to the cause. It's like Congress voting for a raise...

No, NC does not have a property tax on dogs. Some communities in NC levy a fee to dog owners, as I suspect many communities in other states do.
So the tea party wants to lower the taxes for themselves but not for the majority of Americans
Im not a tea party member but from what I understand, they want everyone to pay a share not just a select few.
