If one uses a flat 15%, there just is not enough revenue compared to the current system.
.
false
currently the federal REVENUE is about 2.3 trillion...which a budget of 3.5 trillion...big DEFICIT
currently the personal income tax only makes up about 1.2 trillion the othe 1.1 trillion comes from the payroll tax, the corporate tax, excise taxes, and the estate taxes.
total "personal" income (reported) in the usa is about 13 trillion...a 15% flat tax would net nearly 2 trillion in taxes (1.95t) thats nearly the ENTIRE revenue of the USA (2.3 trillion (which includes income, payroll, estate, corporate, excise, etc))the budget was 2 trillion nearly the entire 00's
tax EQUALLY or dont tax at all
I dont care if you earn 15k or 1.5 million or 7 billion..tax equally at ONE RATE
the rich (higher incomes) will pay more anyhow.....(using 10% as an example) a 10% tax on a 20k earner is 2k in taxes...a 10% tax on a 2 million dollar earner is 200k...but the rate is FAIR, EQUAL and does not discrimiante

So you want to tax the working poor about a quarter of their total income? [15% flat-tax plus Social Security tax (7%) plus Medicare tax (1.5%)]
Yeah, tax the single mom who makes $7.25 an hour, that will generate tons of revenue.
There's a reason 50% of people don't pay taxes, they can't afford it. A person making $2 million a year can afford to pay. The wealthy don't need more tax cuts, they're given everything in life on a silver platter anyway.
Who exactly says they can't afford it? You? The president? Liberals? That mom?
I bet that mom "affords" a cell phone, cable, internet, eats out, smokes, drinks and watches movies.
Given everything in life on a silver platter? Or hard-working, sacrificing risk takers? Another liberal that thinks the wealthy are just "lucky". Makes it easier to not own up to their own failures - just blame "luck".

are they part of this country???
should they not pay their fair share???
they use MORE of the services than anyone, should they not contribute??? why not just because they are 'poor'..gee maybe we should all quit our jobs and be 'poor' so the allknowing government can take care of us like a good nanny
I want EVERYONE to pay... the only way to have us survive is if we all work together..we ALL need to contribute..not just the 'evil rich'
or are liberals just LIARS when they talk about EQUALITY

Do away with income tax all together and have a consumption tax on big ticket items that way more money goes to the waitress that might need a new ride and keep the current sales taxes.Cut the US government to the bone let the States worry about social issues, education, enviromental, work rules and regulations. The military might be going to a 401 k plan why can't SS be like a 401k health savings accounts that YOU THE TAX PAYER has control of not the government? Are they worried that might take their money tree away or power over the people? I can handle my own finances and decisions better than these idiots.
