Man accused of stabbing mom after she offered a sandwich
A Naperville man released from a hospital Thursday repeatedly stabbed his mother with a 6-inch butcher knife after she offered to make him a sandwich, prosecutors and police said Friday.
The alleged attack resulted in "bone-chilling screams" heard by neighbors and was so intense that the knife blade snapped off its handle, prosecutors said.
