See, these are the kind of truly stupid projects the dems/left seem to think are really good ideas.

Hasn't turned out that way though, has?

MORE waste of taxpayer funds on the BAD ideas of the Left.

Seattle's 'green jobs' program a bust | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

Quote:
Last year, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn announced the city had won a coveted $20 million federal grant to invest in weatherization. The unglamorous work of insulating crawl spaces and attics had emerged as a silver bullet in a bleak economy – able to create jobs and shrink carbon footprint – and the announcement came with great fanfare.
A "silver bullet"? Kind of like hiring someone to dig a ditch....and then fill it back in with dirt.

Quote:
As of last week, only three homes had been retrofitted and just 14 new jobs have emerged from the program.
The goal? 2000 jobs and 2000 homes "weatherized".

What a pitiful, miserable failure.

Where DID the money go?

So basically the government is loaning money to enter this program, where the recipient pays twice as much as the job would cost if done by an existing company that installs sealed crawlspaces. Way to take away MORE work from the private sector and further gouge the consumer!

Don't you care how much money he has wasted on pet liberal projects?

Of course you don't.

If you don't care for my threads, I suggest you stay out of them. That would be much better than just posting how much you don't care for them.

Even worse than that. I read a report about 6 months ago that claimed scammers were out in force, sucking up the money and doing shoddy work that had to be redone.

How could anyone think THIS kind of project would stimulate anything?
