I remember going through this with saganista..

I say EVERYONE goes on them. Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, they will be doing their civic duty by going on food stamps.

Better yet, why dont the government SELL them.. We can buy them with real cash, cutting the deficits, and then spend them, boosting the economy.. Woo hoo.. These Democrats are geniuses.. Why didnt they think of it before.. haha

Yeah because without the food stamp program, people will just stop eating..

Theyll have no choice when they can no longer afford to purchase food from the grocery store.

Besides that, what grocery store, or business, do you know of that makes a profit off a poor person without "government handouts?"

Obama Ag Secretary Vilsack: Food Stamps Are A Stimulus | RealClearPolitics
People who are on food stamps shop buy food which stimulates the grocery stores and supermarkets. Unemployment benefits also stimulates the economy. Essentially we need to stimulate demand. Unfortunately those who are poor don't have money so they can't stimulate business. There is a multiplier effect with food stamps and unemployment benefits.

If you steal a dollar from a working person and give it to a welfare person it means the working person will have to quit eating steak and switch to ground beef, while the welfare person can switch from ground beef to steak.what a country.around here food stamps sell for .50 on the dollar so yes it is sort of a stimulus

Do you have proof that those on food stamps spend it on pricey food items?? And I don't want anecdotal stories.

So the only way to afford to buy food is food stamps?
