Right. It's drought and famine that have been going on for decades, compounded by a corrupt government and years and years of war. Yet we keep just dropping off government rice like we're actually helping. Either give it up, or actually TEACH them how to take care of themselves.
We want to help because we are not indifferent animals. We get rid of the corrupt government and put these people back on their feet. Somalia is not Iraq or Afghanistan.

You too must have misread the OP. I would much rather see our brave men and women fighting to save a country that begs to be saved instead of trying to save people who are religious zealots.

I'm sure the bleeding hearts who wanted the United States to invade Iraq and Afghanistan and had America invade Somalia in the 90's had the same lofty ideals as the OP.
Maybe the OP should visit the grave sites of those who died because of others ideals of saving the downtrodden...
