The stats on the poverty level in TX is directly related to this BS chart that the OP posted. It's basically saying that because the population of TX increased at a higher rate than the rate in which jobs increased that TX came in dead last. Common sense tells you that TX has seen a large increase in population due to illegal immigration which is also directly responsible for the high poverty levels in TX. Counties that have seen the highest levels of illegal immigration are also the counties that see the highest levels of poverty.
First the liberals complained the jobs created were crappy but if the population is poor are these not the jobs that they need to obtain?
Texas poverty is heavily influenced by illegal immigration. Some if the border colonias where many illegals settle look like third world countries. If Texas went in and bulldozed them to the ground liberals would cry foul.

We also got lots of transplants from other states. Middle class families that just can't afford to live elsewhere anymore and those looking for jobs.

It is amazing the tactics the liberals take to attack Perry and Texas. Texas apparently is creating jobs at such a rate that people are flocking to the state. According to the OP's own link, there are more migrating to Texas than there are jobs created for the hoard,...therefore giving the lefties a false sense of Texas-hating, and a skewed little chart to prove it.

Nine states created fewer than 10,000 jobs, while Maine, Hawaii, Delaware and Wyoming created fewer than 1,000. Eighteen states have lost jobs since the recovery began.

That's one of the points us anti-Perry Texans have been trying to make. We have known FOR YEARS that many people have been moving here. We have known FOR YEARS that Mexicans would migrate to Texas as the violence gets worse.
What have we done about it here? Well, we've lowered taxes to the point where we have no money, are in a deficit and have had to cut funding from education and other essential services. Meanwhile, everywhere south of Corpus is getting poorer and poorer.
Heck, if we are going to make the "common sense" tells you argument, I may as well state that common sense tells you Texas's economy is still dependent on oil, and without it, we are pretty much toast.

Further more, if Perry had not taken Pres. Obama's stimulus money and used it to prop up his state budget, Texas would have been in debt by billions.
Perry comes off as a snake because he took the money used it to cover his shortfalls and then criticised Obama for giving out the money, it doesn't get much lower or dishonest than that.

On his campaign website, Perry wrote: "The Democrats think this bill will change our country's financial fortunes, but you and I know better. … This administration is saddling future generations with an increasingly unbearable debt." He then urged readers to sign an online petition telling "Washington" that they are "fed up with bailouts."

This is a total load of crap and a perfect example of how numbers/stats are twisted to reflect what you want them to say. The official government stats say Texas, Utah & North Dakota (I believe - I can't remember the 3rd state, but CNN reported this about 5 months ago) have the best economies and have created the most jobs . . . . and then this study comes out from someone else using the same numbers.
