I kind of got a smile out of this. True this guy is a teacher and they probably cannot fire him for his views on gay marriage but on my job we were all warned not to say anything ON or OFF the job publicly about that issue or anything having to do with homosexuals at all. We were told we may not write letters to the paper or speak in public including in church about the subject or we would be terminated for creating a "hostile work environment".

Joe, you found out the hard way that we do have censorship about freedom of speech. Yes, it is there and we will have to put up with it at least another yer and a half.

as a self employed Carpenter I agree that you must keep a rather neutral stance as to not loose business to potential clients because of personal leanings. and for that reason I keep stickers on my truck limited to NRA, TEA PARTY PATRIOTS and NObama and such and business has been quite steady. no need to go over board stick with average American values.

Homosexuality is just as evil as eating shellfish, at least according to the Bible.

Delicious, evil shellfish.

If you work in a private business you have no freedom of speech because, for the most part, they can fire you anytime they want. I really don't have any problems with gays or gay marriage myself anyway because I am of the view that adults can do what they want as long as they are happy with it and it does not effect the rest of us. 2 homosexuals sharing a nest is not going scrape anything off my plate and they don't bother me anyway. I just found it ironic that a teacher can be told this because they are government employees and do have 1st Amendment rights.

I had a plumber come in once and a copy of "The Case Against Barak Obama" was on the entry table. My mom (very anti-Obama) had passed it on to me in hopes that my son would read it. This plumber chatted about this and that and asked me if I had read any good books lately. I said I read all sorts of things and he said he saw the book. I was at a loss and I didn't want to anger him by saying the wrong thing, lol. Fortunately he tipped his hand as being anti-Obama himself so I nodded and smilied and got my toilet fixed!

If he simply stated he disagreed with it, it likely would have been left at that, but he went above and beyond that with his comments.
