You cannot do anything unless government first decides if it will allow you to do so. We are not free, we live under a soft tyranny.

Government was just a necessary evil to ensure our rights and freedoms were being protected, but now we cannot even slowly sell our belongings to pay our medical bills, without some bureaucrats deciding whether or not we can do it or not. As if we cannot decide for ourselves if we no longer want to keep what we already bought and paid taxes for or not.

I'm not sure when we lost our freedoms, or when protecting out for our rights so we could live our lives, was no longer the function of government, but rather their purpose was perverted into controlling our lives. The sad thing is that so many sheep are fine and dandy living this way; by bending a knee to bureaucrats before we were allowed to spit.

If I lived on her block, I'd volunteer to let her sell her stuff in my yard three times, and recruit neighbors to do the same.

Sometimes, the law really is an ass.
You could haul her stuff to the swap meet then

Not at all. It's absolutely disgraceful that a woman with terminal cancer has to sell her belongings to cover medical costs.

Did you ever think that maybe the law is wrong and she's not?
