Michigan's 'Anti-Foreign Law' Regulation Upsets Muslims
Why would muslims be upset about the US banning foreign laws? I thought these muslims were Americans?

The Muslims are right about this one, legally speaking.

I guess they care more about the independence of the courts and the separation of powers than the Americans in this thread who apparently flunked high school civics.

A similar law passed constitutional muster in Oklahoma if I remember correctly

Perhaps it was narrowly tailored enough, but I'd love to see the link.

I don't know who is dumber in this debate, Muslims that actually believe that they can establish Sharia, or right wing paranoid nuts that believe it too.

Opposition is mounting among Muslims against pending legislation that would ban Michigan courts from considering "foreign laws" — including Sharia, or Islamic law.

Muslim and community leaders gathered Tuesday in Midtown to denounce legislation from state Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, as divisive, unnecessary and mean-spirited.

"This plan goes against our country's core values of accepting people from all races and walks of life," said state Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, who is Muslim. "We simply cannot move forward with this plan.

"It's racism at its core."

Regarding the bold...
#1 - What country? Whose values?
#2 - I'm sure they can't move forward with that "plan" in the way. GOOD.
Pretty much is same old racist ideas asked and answered many times. Nothing new.

Of course you have the legal right to insult people's intelligence. In the right-wing view that's what makes America great.
I'm saying most Americans aren't buying into this xenophobic rhetoric, and saturating the forum with these repetitive threads are doing nothing for the right-wing cause imo.

The Muslims need to get over it and deal with it. If they don't like it, too bad.
