Is Ole Rache still out there? There just is not an "equivalent" anywhere to that. However, putting a gay ultra liberal on Fox would certainly be the PC way to go.
Yep, by reaching so many people, there's no doubt that good ol' Fox "News" is solidly mainstream media.
As to why a conservative equivalent of Rachel Maddow isn't on Fox "News", unfortunately William F. Buckley, Jr. died in 2008, and there's no other political commentator on the right who isn't rabid.

People like George Will can represent the Republican principles well, if given a chance. But Will is one of them well-reasoned types (he does not know to argue and shout at the same time) and Fox will lose ratings if they put up such people. I am sure there are others around - if Fox can dig up idiots, they can also dig up more reasoned RW people.
If Fox wants to be taken serious, why won't it replace angry-radio type of hosts with PhD-type personality for reporting? I think it would be interesting. Instead of reporting common opinionated content, why not hire a host who does research and back up his/her claim with imperical data?
They couldn't find a conservative woman that was that manly?

Conservative manly woman is tough to find - she is still hiding in the closet ....
