So much for fox, the other right wing outlets and their minions trying to bash Obama over taking some vacation days. At the same time in their presidency,
Reagan: 112 days on vacation
W: A whopping 180
Obama: Only 61
Clinton bottoms the list with only 28.
Really shows those on the left are ready to work. The right? not so much.
Throw some math at this group of numbers and you find that if Obama is at 61 in 2 1/2 years that figures out to 24.4 per year and at the end of his 1st term he will be at 97.6. Now give him two terms, which you are so sure of, he would be at 195.2 for the 8 years. Hmmmm, that seems to be more work than you and CBS were willing to do. Well maybe you two didn't want it to be seen but some of us just aren't stupid enough to be taken by your lack of mathematical abilities.
All that time spent with a calculator when you could have just, um, read the second sentence in the post you quoted?
Facts are stubborn things but when you use 2 1/2 years against 8 years you are in trouble and not using facts.
The numbers I heard cited compared Obama's vacation days to the vacation days took by other presidents at this point in their presidency. Judging by that criteria, Bush is by far the vacation king, followed by Reagan, then Obama and then Clinton.

Say what?

So far, President Obama has taken 61 vacation days after 31 months in office. At this point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch where his staff often joined him for meetings. And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch.
Whatever the numbers may be, do two wrongs make a right? Especially when the economy is in the tank.
How is Obama taking a break every now and then a wrong? The complaints coming from the "left" is the hypocrisy of the right when it comes to Obama's vacation days versus that of his Republican predecessors. As they say, if you talk the talk, you should walk the walk as well...
That is a state matter, not a federal one. Insensitive, perhaps, but not a major faux pas, IMO.
Um, FEMA is a federal agency. Katrina was a federal crisis, not just a state one. When a Governor declares a state of emergency, it allows them to get Federal aid.

Exactly. It's the hypocrisy that's annoying. Incessantly criticizing Obama, while the right ignored Bush's record breaking vacations is pure hypocrisy.

It's not a "break." First he goes on a taxpayer-funded campaign tour, then he leaves to go to one of the most expensive vacation spots in America instead of calling back Congress to figure out a way out of this mess of an economy. Even the European leaders are forgoing their vacations right now.
I don't begrudge anyone their down time, but to be frank, he has had 2.5 years to get us on the right track, most of that time with a filibuster-proof majority and they can't even pass a budget. All they did was spend and ram through healthcare.
So no, he has not earned a vacation at this time.
Mind you, I don't really care how much vacation time the presidents are taking as long as the country is running properly. Newflash: it's not.
