So apparently you have some fundamental objection to the principle that "governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed"?

You are joking I hope. I will wager you your entire years salary that the people in Egypt, Lybia and Syria don't want a theocracy run by Sharia. I GUARANTEE you that! This is all forced onto them, if they don't like it, they CAN'T speak out, they will be killed or locked up. Obama is helping the MB get their Caliphate, being the Muslim that he is.

Is it just me, or is anyone else just a little bit puzzled that this alleged "draft Constitution" for Libya is written in English?

Well, if the West is against one dictator, we have to be against all of them.
Now, if the majority of people want a Sharia-based future, sad enough, but it is their business and country.

That is true, however a lot of moderate countries are also based in theory on shari'a, which itself is a gigantic body of law and commentary, much more like the "English common law" than like the Ten Commandments.

Libya is something like 98% Muslim, to think Islam will not play a role in their new country highlights one's ignorance.

I don't remember touting anything in Egypt as gospel.
