Countries/governments network and build/protect interests. It's just how it works. I don't completely agree with it, espcially in cases like Timor, but we can't do anything about it.

Hey, the Iraq war has been free - it's been paid for entirely by Iraqi oil money just like the Bush administration said it would be....

This joker needs to either step down or be impeached before he causes further irreversible damage to this country.

I still say he's hitting the crack pipe...seriously. The mans skinny as a toothpick.

If this is the truth, I will be the first Democrat on this board to say it how it is.

Bad move, Obama. Why not invest all the billions in foreign aid to America and our people instead of useless countries like Israel and Libya and numerous other ones?

It is time we stand up and say NO. These politicians have ruined my future.

So lets see...Libya produces oil, and is about to have a regime change. Obama wants to establish good relations with this country right away. What on earth for??? what an idiot, right?? Take the long term view, my right wing friends.

Since the rebels have taken over, crude prices have plunged. If Gaddafi and his minions are completely out of power, it will plunge more. Obama seems to be giving the people an incentive to keep fighting to get them completely out and to take back the country. This will mean lower gas prices, another dictator out of power, and not having to use US troops costing lives and substantial amounts of taxpayer money. I think this is a very wise move on Obama's part.

You're right, let's just overthrow the democratically elected prime minister of Iran who wants to nationalize Iran's oil industry and install the Shah who will supply us with cheap oil and who the US and Britain can own. Take the long-term view. That'll really work long-term won't it

Gas prices started going down before news of this broke.

Try again.

Obama invaded Libya for oil, not to overthrow a dictator.
