Small nation I know but US trade is basically non existent....except for military equipment...probably the last place the USA actually still has a market.

80% of Australian natural resources are foreign owned. What do you expect? The Australian people have been asleep while their country has been pillaged and plundered like colonial Africa.

Why not when they think they can win?

We know they can't but what we know doesn't near as much of what they can think.

I think your correct, exactly what you have said makes so much sense. They are not playing, and they also are not stupid either. Timing seems to be everything. The way they are talking they are more then confident.

Umm how would they do that the US alone is 40% of the worlds military power and chin could use nuclear weapons to be a threat but In a Conventional war they would lose and in a full on nuclear war no one wins

Problem is that China has nukes just like us. Their people can tolerate economic pain far more than we can. Nuke NYC and Philly, the government inevitably falls to its own citizens. Bankers, government officials put up against the wall and shot. Anarchy, revolution...good times. Military command structure would not survive, no matter how much people like to believe that soldiers = robots.

China has too many people and wants to thin the herd. They've already polluted half their drinking water and have been aborting most of their girl babies for a couple of decades.

They have to start a war to kill some of their many single men and to perhaps confiscate some land for future pollution.

While a bit extreme, this ^

It'll be like the video game Fallout 3. The Chinese will invade Alaska, we'll press the big button and that'll be the end of that. Only thing is, in the game it happens in 2077.
