I love that my girlfriend left this morning on a plane to visit her best friend in Havelock, NC, which is RIGHT on the coast. They're gonna stick it out.
Prayers to eveyone who lives in the E.C. and is in the path of the hurricane. Please be safe, and with those you love. Hunker down and make sure you have thosse things that are needed at a time like this. We will be thinking of you all, and praying for you to be safe.
Political differences aside, I wanted to take a minute to shout out to all of the east coasters on this forum that may be in the path of this hurricane. At this moment it is expected to be pretty bad. Be prepared, batten down the hatches and evacuate if necessary. Remember to make sure your pets are safe too! As it looks now, I will get hit pretty hard, I'm about 5 miles inland from the shore. I have plenty to do battening down my place as well. Good luck and stay safe!!!!
Hopefully it will make an eastward turn and not hit us too hard....
It is only a Cat-2, but better be safe than sorry.

A Cat2 can wreak a lot of havoc and leave you without power. My family in the NYC area are clueless on how to prepare for this. They are getting videos - in case they lose satellite reception - rather than food/water/batteries.
