So 2 or 3 more terms as back-bench senator would have somehow magically transformed him into a "leader"? He might have been the next Harry Reid, but that ain't sayin' much...
Naw....he would have still "pushed the wrong buttons", on votes....
Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong, but one party cannot propose a bill, vote on it in both the House and Senate, and make it a law. There aren’t enough votes on either side of the isle to bully a bill through. Hence, every law is passed with some degree of bipartisan support…
You are wrong. The democrats had a majority in both houses, and could force MANY issues.
Additionally, some issue were forced, because they could be pushed through by bending some of the rules put in place for other reasons.

Did I say that? I said then MAYBE Obama. My point is, he had to bring everyone from Chicago for his cabinet because he didn't know any one in Washington. He had no relationships established yet in Washington so that when the time comes be can lull some strings to get Congress to work with him.
I agree with you. NO President could have cured the Recession by now, no matter what some on the opposing party say.
Obama is not perfect.. I wish at times he would grow some balls instead of trying to negotiate with people who have absolutely NO intention of sorting out the mess but are continually playing party politics at the cost of America and Americans.
Anyone who has ever had their home devastated by a disaster knows that to rebuild is a long haul and costs huge amounts of money... it is made harder if your neighbor is forever coming over and stopping you from rebuilding.
No President is a dictator and they seem not to realize when they make promises on the "stump" that often they cannot do what they promise... no matter how good for America the idea is.
If anyone thinks that by getting rid of Obama in next years election will solve todays problems are in for a rude awakening but it's not to cure America that Parties want to get into the Whitehouse it's just the same old same old political one upmanship... "be careful what you wish for" comes to mind.
You don't try to change the military in the middle of a war and you don't elect " the black guy" to be president becuase you think it would be "cool" to do so when someone with real experience is needed.
Not sure if anyone remembers the worst recession probably in USA history that occurred just before Obama took office. Millions of jobs lost and the banking, housing system collapsing all around us. The Stimulus package to bolster the Banks, the HUGE debt to China, The Iraqi war that cost trillions, the virtually non existent Immigration policy, Enron scandal, deregulation under the two Bush's and Clinton, etc etc etc, All of which contributed to the recession that caused financial destruction during the period BEFORE Obama.
It can now be seen that recovery is on the way and after only nearly three years in Office... Obama is doing as good or even better job than any other President could do under the extreme circumstances. To say that Obama has caused or is making worse the situation from the HUGE recession is just plain Dumb or just anti-Obama rhetoric by Obama haters........
"The July update of the USA TODAY/IHS Global Insight Economic Outlook Index shows real GDP growth, at a six-month annualized growth rate, slowly gaining strength in the second half of the year. Lower oil prices, improved auto production and sales, increased business equipment spending, strong exports and recovery in the multi-family residential sector are expected to push growth above 3% in November and December. High unemployment and continued weakness in the single-family housing sector remain drags on growth."
It is a fact that the last thing to recover after a recession are Jobs but they will recover.
What I've said all along is that he wasn't qualified to step into the White House. The time he spent in congress was too short for him to establish him self in Washington.
At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist (or a nut job):
Don't you all wonder about this?
Does it not give you pause that a junior senator with no money and no connections and no national reputation managed to become President of the U.S. on his first national election?
I have long thought that there is someone with a lot of money and a lot of clout pulling Obama's strings.
Obama was handpicked by that person.
Anyone who thinks that Obama is calling the shots is deluding themselves.
In about 50 years this country is going to learn a whole lot about what is REALLY happening with this presidency.

His slow learning curve and inability to "grow into the job" is astonishing. Homer Simpson would be a better president after 3 years of on-the-job training - how can a supposedly intelligent individual learn absolutely nothing from his experience???
He is an absolute intellectual "flat-liner". An amoeba learns more and faster.
