Looks like the Tea Party has overreached, more than anything I ever imagined. Talk about a sobering reality. For the zealots who frequent this board, as well as their heroes, time to wake up and smell the coffee.

After the downgrade, a direct result of the tea party's manufactured crisis and absolute refusal to compromise, America holds them responsible for this mess. Furthermore, while the tea party screams about the "will of the people", the citizens of this country CLEARLY want something other than what they are selling, including raising taxes to deal with our fiscal issues.

Quote:
Americans are plenty angry at Congress in the aftermath of the debt crisis and Republicans could pay the greatest price, a new Associated Press-GfK poll suggests. The poll finds the tea party has lost support, Republican House Speaker John Boehner is increasingly unpopular and people are warming to the idea of not just cutting spending but also raising taxes — anathema to the GOP — just as both parties prepare for another struggle with deficit reduction.
More bad news for the GOP:

Quote:
The backlash was personal, too. Boehner, the congressional veteran from Ohio who struggled to win enough members of his own party to pass the debt deal, won approval from 29 percent of the poll's respondents. That's the lowest such level of his tenure and also the first time his rating is more negative than positive. Forty-seven percent of Republican respondents said they approve of Boehner; only a fifth of independents have a favorable opinion of him.

2012 is going to wipe the tea baggers out. It's a presidential year so more Democratic voters will show up and now everyoner sees their terrible agenda.

The GOP may have control of the house, but people are disgusted with Congress in it's totality. That means every Democrat in it as well. You say the Tea "baggers" are going to get wiped out, but I think they will win even more seats in the Congress, even at the expense of their fellow Republicans.

He is a Neocon.

Well, the "tea baggers" may be wiped out, but the Tea Party will still have a lot of support.

Those are about the same disapproval numbers as 2010 and 2008.

I really don't care whom holds the seats, just pointing out that your analysis is pretty bad and more politically driven than fact based. Maybe you can get a job at Fox News?

Yeah, so many of us that voted for Obama in 2008 just can't wait to vote for him again after finding out we elected Bush 3.0

The tea party is the most disliked political group in the country.

In my opinion anyone that voted for Obama or Bush should sit this next election out. You had your chance and you failed miserably. Now let us more intelligent, more informed voters who actually know what's going on put a real President into office.....................RON PAUL 2012~

For anyone to say oh well I voted for Obama but I had no idea he would turn out like he did. Pathetic! The writing was on the wall.........most voters are just clueless and pander their vote to what sounds good, who looks good, and who spends the most money. They could care less about what the candidate is actually SAYING!
