Those pic's look like what happens every year in the midwest with flooding. I guess since it's not the east coast nobody cares. Now it is the east coast and the world has ended.

You clearly have NO CLUE about the extent of the damage here in Vermont. This storm caused rivers here to change course permanently, major rivers and streams were as much as 30 FEET above flood stage.

There are STILL (Wednesday) people unaccounted for and towns that are all but unreachable. The people of Rochester VT are completely cut off and their down is devastated. The local cemetrary was washed out to the point that there are COFFINS lying exposed in what is now stream bed.

Oh my Gosh. I had no idea it was that bad. That's horrible.

Where in earth did you get the idea that no one cares when the midwest has flooding?

Maybe an update every 15 minutes along with a crawl with info would be fine. But I don't think preempting other shows for 24/7 coverage was appropriate. That's my OPINION. You don't have to get insulting about it.

250,000 died in the tsunami in 2004. Pardon me if I think 38 doesn't really compare. And spare me the whole, "Oh if it was YOUR child.....". By that measure, you would think every car accident should be front page news. I'm not trying to be callous, just realistic.

If I knew someone who was flying into or out of there (and I did), it would be the easiest thing in the world to find the info I needed on the internet.

Also, I don't care about the politics of this thing one way or the other. I never understood the idea of politicizing storms and disasters.
Well the AMERICAN media cares about AMERICANS because thats what AMERICANS care about, do you understand that?

Fortunately, most Missourians are capable of compassion for those outside Missouri's borders.
