Muslims always want their government and laws to be based on Sharia. They want everyone in their society to live under the the laws of the Quran. But there are many people in their countries who are not Muslim. Why should one be forced to obey the rules of a religion one does not follow?

The United States is a majority Christian country but her laws and government are not derived from the Bible. The US government is secular. There is freedom of religion and everyone is equal in the eyes of the laws.

Shari'a can be interpreted any way a given group in power wants it to be. It is extremely broad, and contains all sorts of things that have nothing particular to do with the Quran. Saying laws will be based on 'Shari'a' is no more specific than saying laws will be based on 'English common law'.

That said, it would be nice if the idea of separation of religion and state were more popular in majority-Muslim countries than it is. But it really doesn't affect my life too much.

And plenty of our laws are derived from the Bible. They shouldn't be, but they are. Homosexual acts were illegal in every state until 1961 and 20 states or so until 2003. You're saying that's not based on the Bible? Try basing it on reason or logic and see how far you get!

At this stage they became a strategic threat to any country hosting them. It had never been like that.

The Koran is very specific about that. Muslims are instructed NOT to live among the infidel except with the intention of converting them, including of course conversion by force. By definition, Muslims cannot be about freedom of belief.

Funny, since I've lived around plenty of Muslims in my life, and none of them ever did anything except mind their own business and practice their religion with other believers. I guess the Koran is like the Bible: people pick and choose which rules they want to follow.

Same here. There's a reason why it's almost always the people who never have ventured beyond whatever jerkwater town they grew up in who are scared to death of Muslims.

Were you ever around them in Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia? Ask the Hindus of Pakistan how all that diversity is working out for them. Or ask the Nigerians how it's going with the Muslims taking over their country.

Muslims here are no different than Muslims moving into other countries. There isn't some kind of special Islam that makes the ones here more favorable toward the Jews and others.

Islamic nations are a complete mess. They don't believe in religious freedom, certainly not for Jews especially.

You're not even scratching the surface. Ask the kurds, chaldeans, cops, maronites, assyrians, bahai, zoroastrians, and dozens of other groups what it is like to live as a minority inside a muslim-majority nation - none will have a positive thing to say.

Muslims, like the Jews, are an ethnocentric civilizations, that is to say they are prone to defend their own ethnic, religious intererests at the expense of the others, while the opposite is true for the Western Christians, after all it's been the French who declared "Libertè, egalitè, fraternitè" and Jesus who claim having came for everyone, regardless one's race, age, ancestry etc
