Obama has far outdistanced any of his five preceding Presidents in the number of fundraisers he has attended thus far in his term as President. I thought this would be kind of fun to talk about since he has been to 127 of these activities, so far, and only 19 or them have been in Washington DC. We have a thread about counting vacation days and I wonder if a trip to California could be considered kind of a vacation. He certainly has kept that big old 747 busy going to fundraisers at public expense. Maybe the Party should be paying for these trips.

What? His use of his use of Air Force One and Marine to get to fundraisers? Yes, it does bug me to think that my tax money is being used to raise money for the Dem Party and the Obama campaign funds. And of course, he is vacationing on many of those trips to the west coast and the interior of the nation.

so he doubles Reagan and triples Carter. How does he compare to Bush? Is it a product of the time? Is it possible Reagan and Carter simply didn't do that because it wasn't the norm and they didn't need it?

The link speaks to the other three, I think.

I think it is great news. Obama is going to raise a ton of cash to counter GOP attacks and go on the offensive. The Supreme Court created the current environment, so naturally Obama has to also play the game or get left behind.

Of course, all those fundraising trips, at public expense, can't be called vacations although he is wined and dined by the people at the meetings. I really only want to add those things to the days of vacation that we hear so much about concerning Bush. Naw, that isn't fair, is it?

Did you cry about it when Raygun did it, did you when Bush Sr did it, how about when any Republican politician does it, NOPE, thought not. Vacation is a relative term when it comes to any President, and we both know that.

I guess you failed to see that Obama outnumbers all those you mentioned in terms of fundraisers. Kind of what I would expect.
