So the counties can pass out English books and tell the Spanish speakers to get busy

β€œCan you cite one speck of hard evidence of the benefits of "diversity" that we have heard gushed about for years? Evidence of its harm can be seen β€” written in blood β€” from Iraq to India, from Serbia to Sudan, from Fiji to the Philippines. It is scary how easily so many people can be brainwashed by sheer repetition of a word.”

All naturalized US citizens have to pass an English language test to become citizens. So shouldn't their English be good enough to read the materials in English while exercising their right to vote?

NY has a large Puerto Rican population, they're all US citizens, so what is your problem?

Yes. And I've never understood why they have to print ballots in more than one language. You should see the ballots in San Francisco. Makes you feel like you're at an international airport terminal.

In states where the official language is English - and yes, that includes California - English should be the only language on the ballot.

Assimilation is gone. There is no need to learn English when the government provides all their needs in their home language.

All Puerto Ricans learn English as a Second Language. So again their English should be good enough. I have nothing against having bilingual voting materials for Puerto Ricans to vote in Puerto Rico.

This is thread is about voting in NY state. So again any naturalized citizen has done an English test and should be able to understand the voting materials in English. If any Puerto Rican happens to live in NY, they too should know enough English to be able vote as they are living in the Mainland USA and have studied from childhood in Puerto Rico English as a second language.
