People want him to comment about the worst job report since 1945, because we need to know what the state of our country is, in this coming depression.

Many other things accomplished that are positive. Now that the Congress has been allowed to be stopped by 70 or so nuts, not much will happen until elections clean of the garbage stopping it up.
Driving the UE rate up, then coming down to still higher than when he came into office is a FAILURE. We won't even mention the stimulous that guaranteed UE wouldn't go over 8%.

The HC plan that is one of the main reasons businesses are not hiring? That plan.

Bin Laden, while a good thing, is absolutely irrelevent to the economy. And he was caught in large part because of Bush.

So congress is being held hostage by the non-majority TP reps, that are just doing what they were elected to do? I thought the senate was still Dem? And the budget was stopped there. And they've come up with nothing.

You're right. Nothing will happen until the elections. The Dems in congress will block positive legislation, and continue to play their disgusting games, until they're thrown out. The president will hide (like he's doing this weekend) because he's out of ideas.

That's what you get for electing an inexperienced narcissistic boy to do a man's job.

But it is worse than 9.1%, far worse.

How about the millions of high school seniors who graduated in June who have been unable to find a job in this market whose numbers aren't even counted?

How about the the millions who have dropped off the unemployment rolls who are no longer counted?

Note to Obama the Marxist Communist in Chief: It's all about jobs, stupid!

This is not the worst job report since 1945, its the first time the jobs reported zero change since 1945. That is a big difference.

Still No Sign of Recession - Barrons.com

Put August down as the month of the jobless recovery -- literally the first time since 1945 that the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported exactly zero change in nonfarm-payroll employment, based on its monthly jobs report released Friday.

Zero is much better than -524,00 and -584,000

Worst Year Since 1945, With More Pain to Come - Real Time Economics - WSJ

The most recent monthly losses[2008], while already horrendous, moved close to surpassing the worst months since just after World War II. Employers cut 524,000 jobs in December[2008], while the November[2008] loss was revised to 584,000 from the 533,000 reported earlier. Given the size of recent revisions, November’s figures could ultimately top the loss of 602,000 jobs in December 1974.
Before 1974, the next-largest losses were 629,000 jobs in July 1956, 834,000 in October 1949 and the giant loss of 2 million jobs in September 1945 just as World War II ended. All of those payroll declines, of course, were a much larger share of the labor force at the time.

This is just a preliminary report. Wait until next month. The August jobs report will be revised, and probably revised downward. The end result might be -19,000 jobs.

The 14M unemployed reflected in the 9.1% rate is technically accurate, but it doesn't give a complete picture. First, an unusually large number of the "employed" are in reality under-employed. Second, an unusually large percentage of people who say they "want" a job have nevertheless removed themselves from the workforce. If/when the economy starts creating jobs, many of those will start looking for work again and rejoin the ranks of the unemployed.

If the federally-funded EUC and EB benefits are allowed to expire as scheduled at year-end, the UE rate will probably fall as many of those who look for work only to qualify for benefits stop looking and drop out of the workforce...

Even at -19,000 or -190,000 it would be a long way from the worst jobs report since 1945. Anyone calling it the worst jobs report since 1945 are either misinformed, mistaken or purposefully spinning.

Well he did and he didn't. The Dow as priced in gold has been headed down from the peak in 1999. He didn't blow the housing bubble so he can't really be blamed for the resulting pop and its effects. But he hasn't taken effective steps to reverse the situation. So failure to act is on him. Not responsibility for problem.

Is it still Bush's fault? or is it the earthquake in Japan? the earthquake in Va.? The recent hurricane Irene? the Arab spring?

It couldn't possibly be his policies, right?
