Woman uses fresh strawberries in her "nice cream". Pay up big bucks (she can't afford), use corn syrup instead, or get shut down. Make sure your crunchy granola progressive friends get wind of this.

This is government being manipulated by big business IMO.

If you want to know the background on why corn syrup is in just about every processed food, see "Food, Inc." You may never buy fast food or food packaged in a box again.

...and in turn manipulating small business. The government is the direct bully here. Short of going in Capone style and grenading their shop, corporations are powerless to directly affect small business.

Already saw the movie. It caused several Obama '08 folks I know to swear off Obama for '12, including my wife. The Monsanto lobbyist appointee was the straw that broke the camel's back in her case. Thanks for the tip though!

nice to find some common ground, but I don't see the connection from Monsanto to Obama as much as Monsanto makes sure to grease the palms of whoever is in office. Ya ain't gonna tell me that Monsanto's money stunk too bad for Bush to take now are you? Monsanto has BIG BUCKS - big enough to buy EVERYONE, Democrat AND Republican.

That's right. As a result, these people are skipping the polls in '12...rightfully so and makes sense to me. If you don't think your guy is fighting for your causes, why vote for him? They don't buy the "lesser evils" bullcrap. Whether's it's ObamaBush or BushObama, makes no difference.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. This is a Chicago thug regulation and not a federal one.

Mob rule - It's the American way, man.

If it were not for those "individuals", everything would work great.

Individuals are trying to destroy this country.

Individuals shouldn't even be considered "persons".

"Nice", is a quaint old artifact that has long ago served its purpose - but now it is time to put it behind us and move forward.

That woman should be fined for sensationalizing her ice cream as "Nice Cream".

I'm sure the T-Partiers will note this not-so-subtle satanic message.

I'm so tired of the government telling people how to cook, what to eat, what to build or not build, what kind of vehicles we should drive, etc, etc.

b-b-b-b-b-b-ut it's not outlawed. The small business just has to pay nearly 50K (it likely doesn't have) to comply. Government puts her out of business, cripples her ability to make a profit, or makes her "niche" business no longer niche, and Chicago City officials + Ben & Jerry's go on another honeymoon.

If only this lady had the decency to grease the palms of Chicago's elite.
