The 'business' didn't go anywhere - just the jobs.

You might as well kvetch about Ford's British, German, South African or Brazilian subsidiaries.

Bottom line is that a vehicle designed and built in the United States isn't going to sell very well in India and a vehicle designed and built in India probably wouldn't sell at all in the United States - the two cultures have very different transportation wants and needs.
You forgot Japan and Mazada.

Did you drop out of school in the 5th Grade?

Let's see, there's 308 Million Americans, and 1 Billion Indians.

Get it?

Do you have an opinion on these actions?

I say good for Ford. Many are not aware that Ford sells cars all over the world. Many of those cars are NOT the same cars Ford makes and sells here.

People have to recognize sooner or later that we ARE in a global economy.

Toyota, BMW, and other "foreign" car companies assemble cars here. Why should Ford be any different.

I have gotten further in the educational system than you have, and your stupidity is showing, how many of those Indians could afford to and would want to buy a Ford - they would rather support their own economy and buy a Tata. And how many Americans buy Fords because of the 'American' pedigree? I would say quite a few.

If you are unaware of the tens of thousands I.T. jobs that have been outsourced to India, you are truly uninformed.

so you have a problem with ford building cars in india for the indian market? how about ford building cars in europe for the european market? or building cars in australia in the autralian market? ford is trying to increase its market share in india, which is a growing market, by designing cars for the indian people. and its working. ford is selling more cars in india, enough that building a new plant to build new cars there is a good move. just like GM building a new plant in china to build cars for the chinese market.

since fords market share is growing in india, i think that indians would in fact BUY cars built there by ford.
