The state and local authorities can help out. If the guard is needed then call em in to help in the recovery. Red Cross seems pretty good at helping folks out along with many other charities. Of course some of them believe in God so libs think there's something wrong with em. Handing out debit cards and building folks new homes is not the job of the government.
So your onboard with just handing out debit cards left and right with a couple grand on em and then flooding the area with hundreds of thousands of money that isn't tracked and half stolen by contractors? Yep sounds like it. Maybe they should do like Clinton and just send out a check to everybody who lived in a certain zip code. No thanks. The price being asked is rather high. When one deals with government, the full and true price often doesn't just extend to 'mere' dollars and cents. Deals with the devil are rarely as good as they seem.
What government is offering is so very often very much like a cell phone contract from hell, being enforced seemingly in perpetuity. Only that which government is so often trying to peddle is even more nefarious than a cell phone contract from hell, and even more astoundingly, it is actually worse than a proverbial deal with the devil. It's a classic a fortiori example.
At least a proverbial deal with the devil, or a cell phone contract from hell, does not bind my progeny and everyone else in the country for unspecified generations extending theoretically out to perpetuity, as the deal with the devil and the cell phone contract from hell generally only binds me (as a single person), the signatory. In contrast, the deal with government so often binds not just me, but future generations into this deal from hell. Again, thanks, but no thanks. It's a simple courtesy I extend based on human decency for the benefit of future generations. I'd rather not have future generations be bound by this deal from hell that they never asked for, all because some huckster dangled a few cookies in front of me and then I signed a deal enslaving future generations just because I got a cookie out of it.

The states and guard should help. Not in monetary ways or rebuilding their homes. It appears you have a different idea of how the government should operate than I. It's quite a simple thing to yell "get out of wars" especially when you have no idea why they're being fought. That's for a different thread though.
