Prob because the guy is a very religious man, and the democratic party is the abortion on demand party? These people have nowhere else to go, so they glom onto the GoP.

Many liberals/democrats, if not most oppose abortion. Pro-Choice is not pro-abortion. It means not forcing one's views on other people, even if they disagree with it.
Good points for the most part, but I would say having to choose between homosexuals and drug addicts is a false choice. I prefer to keep both groups far from the children in my life as both are a dangerous influence and homosexuals are often drug addicts as well.

That is actually not true. Here is the law that Jefferson authored.
"Whosoever shall be guilty of Rape, Polygamy, or Sodomy with man or woman shall be punished, if a man, by castration, if a woman, by cutting thro' the cartilage of her nose a hole of one half inch diameter at the least."
The word homosexuality did not even exist until the 1800's. Sodomy was the term used to define the act; however, there were no terms used to describe what is commonly referred to today as Homosexuals. The closest equivalent would be sodomites, which need I say, most americans are guilty of.
Jefferson was quite liberal as the common punishment for sodomy during this time was death.

Thomas Jefferson also believed in the inferiority of Africans, though he carried on a relationship with one of his slaves for 40 years. and had 6 children with her.

This is a myth.
All the DNA tests show is that a male Jefferson fathered some of her children. There were other Jefferson males other than Thomas and they were present at Monticello at the right times.
