Did you see she fell once on day two and was caught by one of her fellow sitters or she would have been a casualty sooner?? These folks surely aren't the sharpest arrows in the quiver. ....
Maybe she should have tried protesting...gravity.
I'm not by any means happy that she was hurt. However, people doing stupid things are hurt every day...and yes, there is a certain amount of dark humor involved. People watch shows like Jackass and read the Darwin Awards all the time.
Does anyone read what they post before doing so? this is dribble from the beginning. a great deal on conjecture based on nothing, ending in a desire for genocide.
Wow and you think she is a nutbag because she believes in something enough to climb a tree? Curious how her story doesn't appear in any post here. (in her words)
I'd pick her, broken back and all before the loons in here.

Why not enlighten us...just what was she protesting? ("everything" according to the article). And just what was sitting in a tree supposed to accomplish?
Here is another example, I guess, of a moonbat: a stockbroker who is suing to have bigger tables at White Castle so he can properly sit and expand his weight from his current 290 pounds:
We shall now proclaim that this person, who is likely a conservative (I have never met a liberal stockbroker, though they may exist), is stupid, etc, and represents all conservatives.
While I can appreciate that she has the courage of her convictions, (and no, I am not agreeing with them), it's sad that she hurt herself.
Many people say one thing, but don't have the intestinal fortitude to stand behind them. At least this young lady does, as outlandish as I believe her to be, I have to admire the fact that she commits herself the way she does.
I guess she didn't learn her lesson the first time. I'm sure she'll now sue the city for allowing her to be there in the first place.
I don't think it's necessary to be a moonbat to play the lawsuit game. Or even a Democrat or a liberal. Check this out...
Last New Year's Eve, some guy on the West Side of Manhattan jumped out of a sixth floor window, intending to kill himself (happy New Year, right?) But on account of the big blizzard that had hit the city a few days earlier, there was uncollected garbage on the street below. He landed on a huge pile of trash bags, and was not killed.
He sued the city, claiming that municipal negligence regarding garbage collection prevented his suicide.
And so the lesson we learn is, apparently, that anyone can sue at any time for any reason. What we used to think of as common sense, or perhaps rationality, is extinct.
The article was very poorly written and one-sided, not what I call good journalism. I'm disheartened to see so many gleeful people here gloating and being smug because a girl got a broken back as a result of her wanting to herald in a new age of "peace and love".
I doubt it will do any good to remind you now that Karma's a ***** but perhaps you'll remember that when your own personal Karmas catch up to you and somebody else will be gloating over your own misfortunes.

No, we are laughing at the fact that this "supposedly" educated asswipe didn't realize that she was endangering herself and wasn't "educated enough" in what she was actually doing. I laugh at the same types of people who climb that big mountain in Oregon and think they are experts and end up getting lost and die because all the brought was a cell phone to rely on for GPS. Like another poster said, this is nature wiping out the useless genes in it's pool.

That is totally untrue and just shows that you know very little about the subject.

No, it's true. I know enough about the subject thank you.
