Even here in blue-state NJ, women are NOT allowed to be topless in public; even at the beach. Many European countries allow topless bathing, if not in the streets. However, what should be the case here? Should women be allowed to go topless if men are? Here is an interesting article about a woman that clearly is losing in her cause to go topless in public.

Would you feel comfortable having your wife/or yourself or young daughters running around topless?

These laws are sexist, no two ways about it. Yes, women should be allowed topless in public as men are. If women aren't, then men shouldn't be able to either. Boobs are not evil.
No, they certainly are not but "sexist" and public decency standards are two completely different things.
A short walk around any city in the summer will illustrate plenty of near toplessness. If a woman or a man wants to wander around dressed or not their choice. If I do not like what I am seeing I will look away.
I also do not object if a woman is breast feeding a baby in public. After all that is what breasts are for.
Men can go topless and show their nipples. The only difference between men and women is the fact that women's chest sticks out. We all have nipples. We should be able to walk around nude the way God intended.

It would be OK with me if owners of perky 34-B's wanted to go topless, but I really don't want to be looking at those 42-Longs. Better stick with the status quo.
Smile at one and ignore the other. That is your choice.
