Most people pay LOWER Federal Income Tax (FIT) rates than they did 15, 25, or 35 years ago, adjusted for cost of living. Local taxes have risen during that time, in most states. And they whine over FIT.

cause and effect.
Why are so many concerned about taxes?
Why do people complain about price increases?
Because we work hard for our money and its not unreasonable to care about where its going. We have the fed spending money like drunken sailors and then have the nerve to talk about needing more. The irony is that they had the nerve to scold the CEO's of the big 3 about waste and needing to tighten up, when no one is worse than the fed for waste.
We have a right to be concerned because inspite of the rhetoric we are not seeing any meaningful change in DC spending habits.
I for one dont want to be taxed any more than I need to be so that DC has the money to give to other countries or practice the art of nation building.
Then we hear about the big bucks loan for a solar energy company.
When they tighten up and spend right maybe the american people will be a little more receptive to needing our taxes increased.
