I'm not saying Democrats never do that, but in this election cycle, in presidential and congressional races coming up, you see it more with Republicans than Democrats.
I would argue that educated people who persist in pursuing divisive and illogical policies are more of a danger to the country than less educated people who work hard, follow the rules, and believe that relativist morality is a recipe for cultural disaster. To me, smart lies in limiting the power of politicians to do harm. Stupid is giving your wallet to them and trusting them to make things right -- especially when there is so much evidence of their inability to do so.

Now, which is the stupid party, again?

You can thank obama for that. From day ONE, his main line of attack for anyone that disagrees with his horrendous policies, is one of class warfare.

This I too funny. This poster has no issue calling a whole group of people stupid, with no foundation. But gets her panties in a wad over a clearly defined group of people. Don't get angry with me, there is an under class in this country, it is defined and it is perpetuated by government programs.

Smart is when you are smart on your own, and don't need some even smarter guy to control your life.

I thought the liberals were "socialists". Can't have it both ways.

Our education system is going to hell. Average SAT scores are falling, and America is slipping down the list of nations for college completion. And Rick Perry stands up with a smirk to talk to students about how you can get C’s, D’s and F’s and still run for president.

The Texas governor did help his former chief of staff who went to lobby for a pharmaceutical company that donated to Perry, so he at least knows the arithmetic of back scratching.

Perry told the students, “God uses broken people to reach a broken world.” What does that even mean?
Great link...thanks!

uhm

fascism, marxism, nazism and socialism all come from progressivism

The foundation of fascism in part came from the progressive movement especially economically. Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners. Where socialism nationalized property explicitly, fascism did so implicitly, by requiring owners to use their property in the “national interest”—that is, as the autocratic authority conceived it. (Nevertheless, a few industries were operated by the state.) Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities. Where socialism abolished money and prices, fascism controlled the monetary system and set all prices and wages politically. In doing all this, fascism denatured the marketplace. Entrepreneurship was abolished. State ministries, rather than consumers, determined what was produced and under what conditions.

Adolf Hitler, whose National Socialist (Nazi) Party adapted fascism to Germany beginning in 1933, said: “The state should retain supervision and each property owner should consider himself appointed by the state. It is his duty not to use his property against the interests of others among his own people. This is the crucial matter. The Third Reich will always retain its right to control the owners of property.”

this sounds like the liberals to a tee

""Fascism is a system in which the government leaves nominal ownership of the means of production in the hands of private individuals but exercises control by means of regulatory legislation and reaps most of the profit by means of heavy taxation. In effect, fascism is simply a more subtle form of government ownership than is socialism."" Mussolini

The political term fascist is generally accompanied by a totalitarian government required to stifle completion. I am a very far leftist and I have never called for or approved of a totalitarian government or ANY collusion between business and government. I call for a government that serves ALL the people and not just a self chosen few.

I do believe the modern neo conservative Republican government encourages thoughtless response to absurd claims. I see this as part of the incorporation of the religious fanatics into the party. Religion requires faith and faith is opposed to thought. Belief in the fundamental policies of the Republican Party also requires more faith than thought. Thoughtless people can be led to their own destruction. Thoughtful folks can see the end game, tend to ask questions and generally obstruct progress toward their demise.

All the "isms" mentioned above were brought about at the bequest of big banking, finance and manufacturing that did not desire to have market forces interfere with profits. Fascism did not arise from the masses of the people it was a product of the financiers.

Fascism is definitely and absolutely opposed to the doctrines of liberalism, both in the political and economic sphere.

The corporate State considers that private enterprise in the sphere of production is the most effective and useful instrument in the interest of the nation.

The definition of fascism is the marriage of corporation and state.

― Benito Mussolini, "The Corporate State and its Organization"
