He will never pay that and nobody is expecting him to pay that. This is all about legal exploration and maneuvering. The RIAA doesn't even sue people anymore for file sharing, the music industry doesn't sue people anymore for file sharing. Everyone knows this is BS but for some reason it just keeps going....probably because it's keeping plenty of lawyers busy with billable hours. This guy will be dead of old age before these lawyers will stop spinning.

The RIAA may not, but, as you mentioned, lawyers will always take a case and many, I am told, still pursue out of court settlements.
Esp, if you're found to have downloaded some horrifically titled adult movie you'll be embarrassed to have mentioned in court.

So I gave up, but, IT Does not change my views that its still theft.

Oh please. A 1 paragraph blurb with the MSM for a part time artist will not garner any attention from anyone anyway. Why waste the time. Unless my name was Chanel, the MSM wouldn't give me the time of day.

Still, the OP could have gotten a fine of $30K per song for his activities. or fined up to $150,000 (more than what he has to pay now). Lucky for him. Next time, he should not do things illegally.
Actually I think it could have been up to 150K per song.
