Almost certainly, but we're not likely to ever know.

That would be assuming nothing else was involved and there wasn't a precedence or a follow up. I certainly don't have the details to go either way.

But such opinion, stands for discipline. Lack of discipline is driving quality of education down in America. If one can't handle it, look for private schools, or stay out of schools altogether.

Thirty years ago if he had professed the opposite he may have been in trouble too.

Ft. Worth ought to sit in the corner with a Dunce Cap for a time.
What?

I shall point out that Western Hills High School is in Benbrook, Texas, not Fort Worth. I live right down the street.

Wait, you think this kid should go to private school if he has this opinion and you think just having this opinion should result in discipline?? You do realize that public school doesn't and shouldn't dictate that only certain opinions are valid or welcomed, right?? And yet, you complain about close mindedness of the religious types? Aren't you doing exactly the same thing but from the other side? Wow, when I think I can't get surprised on here, a comment like yours comes along.

Well, Benbrook is a suburb. Not too far off to say 'Fort Worth'.

Could be worse, they could have said a DALLAS school...

The news media is telling us everyday that "obesity is wrong", so they are wrong for telling us?

Yes, if he can't handle the discipline. Besides, what makes you think that only "an opinion" was behind this? Such opinions have no place in a civilized society, much less in education. He could have presented the same view differently, something he can definitely learn (as does his mother, and many posters around here). Let me replace homosexuality with obesity that more Americans can identify self with.

1- Obesity is wrong.
2- Obesity is something we must fight against.

Do you see a difference?

Stop believing and taking media that seriously, and you'd be fine. Especially the kind of media you seem to rely on.
