That means together they went from being worth $31 billion dollars to being worth $42 billion today. David is now the richest man in New York City, and the pair are now on the nation’s top ten list for richest Americans.
However, at a time when the Koch brothers were enjoying spectacular financial gains, Koch Industries laid off well over 2,000 people. Using the same approximate “jobs multiplier” Koch Industries used in its study last week, that means Koch Industries extinguished nearly 8,000 jobs in recent years:

So it would seem they share something in common with Obama's job Czar: Jeffery Immelt of GE. Only, I'm betting that unlike GE, that Koch Industries actually paid taxes.

So in this country we have partnerships, we have S corps, we have LLCs, we have a series of entities that do not pay corporate income tax. Some of which are really giant firms, you know Koch Industries is a multibillion dollar businesses. So that creates a narrower base because we've literally got something like 50 percent of the business income in the U.S. is going to businesses that don't pay any corporate income tax.

The question of how the White House got their tax returns is an important one. It is illegal to have them if Koch Industries did not specifically release them. Thanks for pointing out more seemingly corrupt behavior by the White House. Honestly, I had forgotten about reading that some time ago.
