So basically, we should get rid of Texas because you don't like Rick Perry?
I didn't like Palin, doesn't mean every Alaskan Republican is like her and that Alaska shouldn't be a state...lol
Perry and many Texans called for secession, didn't they?
The poster you're referring to said that if they want to secede, have at it.
I'd be fine with letting Texas secede as long as San Francisco is hit with a strategic nuclear weapon, first.
OP... If Texas were allowed to secede because "they are a negative influence" on the rest of the US, you'd not only have a hostile territory immediately bordering the US, but several other states would probably follow. You think food and gas prices are high now, wait till we're missing about 15-20 "producer" states. Your beloved California would be one of the first states to degenerate into chaos.
Just being realistic.
I think as soon as Texas is forcibly kicked out of the union, Wall Street will soar and markets will stabilize. I think one of the primary reasons for market instability is the always looming possibility that a Texas jackass might become president and f*** things up. Call it the "Bush effect" or the "Perry problem." Getting rid of that will greatly enhance our economy.

Market instability has been caused by the socialist in the White House and obamacare. Businesses are reluctant to hire/epand because the liberals consistantly move the goalposts.

Never mind him. Just leave him be under his little troll bridge.
Someone from Texas must have slept with his girlfriend or something.

Perhaps you are operating under the illusion that Texas actually owns the oil companies. Those are private companies. It would have no impact on the amount of oil produced, but nice try.
Any state in America should be allowed to secede if it's the will of the people of that state. People should be allowed to have self determination. I notice how the Left praised democracy when southern Sudan was born by breaking away from their northern countrymen by popular vote, but abhor the idea that America should be a voluntary union. You either support freedom or you don't.
Those people had a choice when they ratified that document called the Constitution. That territory became a "state" when it was mutually agreed by the people of that Territory and the Congress Assembled [In the name and power of the People of the United States].
And why do you think the Constitution begins "WE THE PEOPLE" ???
Besides which every state that is not one of the original 13 [or their former territories] can suck it....you are quite welcome for the Republic and your Rights.
