Drop kick the 16th amendment, and put in a clause where if such is ever brought up again, it will be removed from the table and those who brought it up slapped upside the head.
I have finally decided what one thing I would change. That would be the manner of amending the Constitution. I like the only used method and am really afraid of the fact that a Constitutional Convention could be called to consider a change. How many here really know the story about how the one we have now came into being?
To help those who don't know let me remind you that the Congress called a convention to consider changes to the Articles of Confederation, our first constitution, and the first thing that group did was agree to write a whole new document.
What would happen if we had that happen today? With the number of left leaners we have here what would keep us from getting enough of them on that convention to do the same thing again?
I think the calling of a convention is extremely improbable. Things would have to get a LOT worse than they are now to consider that. I don't even think we're anywhere near where we were in the 1780s.

You can...every four years. If you don't like it Canada and UK have parliamentary systems where the terms aren't fixed.
Then maybe you should take another look at what you think would be good changes. That is pretty much exactly what you are wanting, as each and every one of them have serious, far-reaching consequences.
