The bad news is no man will drive them to the polls.

Do you have a link? Not disbelieving you--shocking as it is--but I'd like to learn more about it. How embarassing that a country doesn't allow women to vote in the 21st century.

Good for Saudi Arabia. Now if we can get Wisc, Florida and some other States to allow the elderly, young and blacks vote in this this Country, we might join the Saudi's in getting Democracy.

Yep!

Only those close to the polls, will be voting!

Women are not allowed to drive in that messed up place.

But look... Without a violent revolution, things slowly change.

That's right, they still will not be allowed to drive. Do they know something about women drivers that we all know but are afraid to admitt???

Oh, how radically progressive of them. I know it's a landmark, but it's still sad this is news.

It's the first I heard about them ever having elections in Saudi Arabia. Elections for what, book club chairwoman? It's an absolute monarchy "balanced" against a fundamentalist theocracy. Has that changed recently and I somehow missed the news?

"The good news is you now have the vote. Congratulations! The bad news is that there won't be any elections in your
lifetime..."

OK, I just Googled it and they are having city elections; I stand corrected. It's only municipal, but better than nothing!
