SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- A Florida merchant account provider is offering customers a free AK-47 assault rifle as part of its "No Merchant Victims" campaign.

MerchantService.com said business owners utilizing their services will receive vouchers for AK-47 assault rifles, redeemable at reputable gun shops, as part of its campaign to encourage business owners to protect themselves from violent crime, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Thursday.

I have no problem with this. From your linked article;

Quote:
"Keep in mind we are not simply handing out AK-47 assault rifles to anyone who opens an account with us. Instead, the merchant receives a voucher that can be used at any reputable gun shop where they must go through the proper background checks and waiting period that the law requires," said Gino Kauzlarich, president of MerchantService.com

Great! I believe, however, that a 12 gauge shotgun would be the best for home/buisness defense. A remington 700 tactical pump will cost a little less than the AK.

AK's are mighty heavy. I'd prefer a 12 ga. pump action with the shortest legal barrel.

I always think back to the North Hollywood shoot out where the two bank robbers had body armour 100 round drum magzine and they used armor piercing rounds.

North Hollywood Bank Shootout - LAPD Life on The Beat - YouTube
they police only had 9MM .38 and 12 guage shotguns and they were just out gunned and the police standard issue sidearms were useless.
